About the Band

The Mt. Pisgah Middle School Band is comprised of about 200 students. We are proud of our several performing instrumental ensembles:

• Beginning Concert Band (Sixth Grade)
• Intermediate Concert Band (Seventh and Eighth Grades)
• Advanced Concert Band (Seventh and Eighth Grades)
• Jazz Band

Our bands perform at numerous local and regional concert contests and, in recent years, have received superior ratings in both performance and sight reading. In addition, the bands perform two concerts yearly at the Germantown Performing Arts Centre:

• Winter Concert -- December 18, 2007
• Spring Concert -- May 13, 2008

Both concerts will begin at 7:00 pm with students arriving at 6:30 pm.

The Honor Band will be performing on November 8, 2007 for the "Veteran's Day Program" and May 6, 2008 for "We Are Pisgah Night".

Band director Dr. David Wood has twenty years of teaching experience, having taught fourth grade through college level. "I am very pleased with the progress the band has made and look forward to even more improvement and success in the future."

Students in the band are expected to rent or purchase their instruments. More importantly, they make a commitment to practice and develop their skills in order to make a meaningful contribution to the band. Band students are expected to attend all performances as part of their grade. Participation in the band is a very rewarding experience. The pride associated with our band program is a big factor in its success.

Concert Program Ads

The Band Boosters are providing all of you with the opportunity to place advertisements in our Concert programs. The price of these advertisements will be used to offset printing costs of the programs. The ads are also a wonderful encouragement to your child. You may also place business ads if you prefer.

Below are some sample ads. The costs per ad are:

• 1/4 page $10.00
• 1/2 page $20.00
• Full Page $40.00

1. Choose the size ad (full, half, or quarter page) you want.
2. Write out your message on this form.
3. Indicate instrument or art you would like.
